Game fish

The warm ocean waters of the Hilton Head area
provide sport fishermen with an opportunity to
anglers snapper, grouper, kingfish, cobia, bluefish,
spot tail bass, swordfish and shark, while flounder,
sea trout and crokers.

Residents and nonresidents are required to obtain a fishing license, which may be purchased at local sporting goods stores, bait-and-tackle shops or major retailers.

Crabbing requires little equipment and is an inexpensive activity suitable for your whole family. Crabs are caught in shallow waters, crabs are easy to catch from docks, boats or banks.

South Carolina requires a fishing license for both saltwater and freshwater fishing.
